Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Copeland

Fr. Joseph began working with folks interested in embracing the ancient Orthodox faith in the mid 1970s. He was ordained to the priesthood on April 5, 1987 at the hand of His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP.

Fr. Joseph is married to Kh. Sophia (Denise). They have four married children and twenty one grandchildren.

Very Rev. Fr. Timothy McCoy

Fr. Timothy was ordained to the priesthood at the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Los Angeles on February 15, 1987 at the hand of His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP. Fr. Timothy was the pastor of St. James Orthodox Church in Reno, NV before relocating to Yakima in 1989. He now serves the parish of Holy Cross as an associate priest.

Fr. Timothy is married to Kh. Anastasia (Jeneane). They have three married children and eleven grandchildren, all of whom live in Yakima and attend Holy Cross.

Very Rev. Fr. Benjamin Kjendal

Fr. Benjamin was ordained to the priesthood on June 30, 2013 at the hand of His Grace, Bishop JOHN. He served as the pastor of St. Stephen Orthodox Church in Springfield, MA and then as pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in Cotuit, MA where he served for 9 years before his assignment to Holy Cross in September 2023. He currently serves as Associate Pastor, to succeed Fr. Joseph as Pastor (Proistamenos) in March, 2024.

Fr. Benjamin is married to Kh. Alyssa and they have eleven children, one of whom was born here in Yakima in December, the rest having moved with them from Massachusetts.

Rev. Protodeacon. Nathaniel Hagler

Dn. Nathaniel was ordained to the deaconate on April 5, 1987 at the hand of His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP. He has been serving Holy Cross since 1987.

Dn. Nathaniel is married to Dna. Kyriaki (Glenna). They have three grown children and fourteen grandchildren. Their youngest daughter, Prodromia, is a tonsured nun at St. John the Forerunner Orthodox Monastery near Goldendale, WA.

Rev. Dn. Polycarp (Hans) Humfeld

Dn. Polycarp (Hans) was ordained to the deaconate at the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Los Angeles on February 15, 1987 at the hand of His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP. He has been serving Holy Cross since 1989.

Dn. Hans is married to Dna. Nona. They have three married children and seven grandchildren.

Rev. Dn. James Summerfield

Dn. James was ordained to the deaconate at the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Los Angeles on February 15, 1987 by His Eminence, Metropolitan PHILIP. He has been serving Holy Cross since 1990.

Dn. James is married to Dna. Anna (Jean). They have three married children and eight grandchildren.

Rev. Dn. Timothy Read

Dn. Timothy Read was ordained to the Diaconate at St. Stephens in San Jose CA on June 14, 1993 by His Grace Bishop Antoun. He has been serving at Holy Cross since 2009.

Dn. Timothy is married to Dna. Anna (Sherry). They have two children.
